Hello All!
We have finally published Mimi’s book which was her last wish. This endeavor was quite a journey as our hearts were heavy of missing her terribly and then also excited because of what was accomplished. Please note these are all her words. Before she left this world she asked the family to peruse the remaining journals and add the appropriate entries that were not initially included in the first draft.
We expedited the launch to coincide with the anniversary of her passing (March 12,
2008) as we want people to embrace her remarkable life. You Are Mine speaks of her
fascinating life, however beautiful and often-times filled with obstacles, however, she never
lost sight of her faith. If you found yourself reading the first draft a few years back, we
implore you to read this version as there are some additions. Once again, these slight
additions were blessed by Mimi. These are her words; this is her book, the book that God
gave her.
Thank you for your love, kindness, prayers and overall faith that you had in Mimi. She
needed all of our love and support to continue to be encouraged to do what the Lord
anointed her to do. Our prayer is that many will be blessed upon reading You Are Mine.

“The hills are alive, with the sound of …” coughing, sneezing,
congestion, wheezing.
Ah Spring! It’s back again.
While most of us enjoy the sights and smells of new leaves and flowers, some of us view Spring as one great-big-long misery.
It depends on your point of view.
You know, there are a lot of things in the world that just depend upon a person’s point of view. We forget that much too often, because we tend to like things to either all good or all bad. We want our enemies to be all bad, and our friends to be all good. We’re really like it if our politicians were all good or all bad, because then it would make voting so much easier. Even our preachers can sometimes be seen as all good or all bad. Unfortunately, of course, most people are gray; a little bit of both good and bad.
Here is a good lesson for us: Very few people are all one thing or another. Even the Muslim, the gay person, the Republican or the Democrat; very few of these people are the “great enemy” that some people paint them to be. I personally know Palestinians who have risked their lives for peace, and Jews who sit down every day with Palestinians in the name of peace, and I know that there are those who do not want peace. I know gay people who have been in committed relationships for decades, just as I know some who are not. I must say, that I know some Republicans and Democrats who want nothing more than to find compromises for our nation’s problems, while I know that there are those who do not. No matter who we are or what position we hold, there are good people who, while they may disagree with us are nevertheless still good people, and within them, as is true with us, there is a little bit of good and a little bit of bad.
So, I view people as being mostly gray. I’m pretty sure that this is the way that God sees us too: As a wonderful creation, who some times must irritate him tremendously.
I’ll See You in Church

Beginning Wednesday, March 25, Rev. Riggs (who has been married 40 years) will be leading a six-week workshop on “Making Marriage Work”. This is free and open to the public. Using the media resources of Drs. Les and Leslie Parrot, this is a class for good marriages so that they can get better, not an “encounter group” for troubled marriages needing to be healed. It will begin at 6:30 pm. and end at 8:00. Call the Church Office at (951) 924-6990 for information and to reserve your place.
