Kids Church 12/08
{ October 29th, 2008 }
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Jeremiah 29:11
Mission: To equip children to passionately pursue God in an environment that reflects the love of Christ.
Our Kids Church leaders:
· To best of their ability, are a reflection of Christ;
· Offer the gift of being present by listening more than we speak;
· Ensure kid’s experience in Kids church is always positive.
Why is this important? We believe that when we accomplish these goals within our children’s ministries, our children as adults will think back to what a positive experience they had in church as children, want to be active members for life, and share that experience with their children.
Why kids love Kids Church? Let’s ask them!
“It’s really fun!”
“My best friends are here”
“Crafts! Sand Art!”
“We get to play, and sometimes watch Veggie Tales movies”
“We got to pet baby chickens” (A volunteer with Heifer International came to thank our kids for their gifts of egg laying hens to families in other countries).
What do we do in Kids Church?
Before the sermon, kids are dismissed to Kids Church until the end of the service. We start out talking about a bible story and/or person of the bible, work on memorizing a bible verse, sometimes work on bible related activity sheets, work on crafts, have healthy snacks, sing songs, and if we have time games for fun (Jenga anyone?). Our Kids Church leaders are confident your child will never be “bored” in our program and will ALWAYS feel welcome and included.
