A Place to Grow

{ May 31st, 2008 }

“A Place to Grow” is the Moreno Valley’s new motto. At the May 13th meeting of the Administrative Council, the report of the strategic Planning Task Force was offered and adopted by the council. The motto, mission statement, and vision statement were derived from the Core Values survey the congregation filled out in January. Our mission Statement as a church is now: “At the Moreno Valley United Methodist Church, we grow in spirit through worship of God as revealed in Jesus Christ, friendship and service to our neighbor.”

The goal as adopted by the Administrative Council , is to grow by 100 in average worship attendance by January of 2011. To help achieve that goal, there will be three major areas of emphasis: Hospitality, Youth and Marketing. All programs of the church will be designed with the intention that people outside of the church can, and will be, invited to attend. A new church logo was also adopted, which will appear on church bulletins, stationary, and all other church-related material. A copy of the report will be available for members of the congregation shortly.

We’re All in This together

{ May 31st, 2008 }

In these times of rising costs and business slowdowns, we hope to give a little boost to our members and their businesses with a little networking.

The Church will be putting together a member business directory. Please submit your business cards to the office. Be sure that it contains your name, or write your name on the back. If you don’t have a formal business card for your service, please write the information on a piece of paper and we can still get the information entered.

We will also have a section for referrals. If you know and want to recommend a business/service that you feel has done an outstanding job, please give us that information. Again, please note your name, so we know the church member making the reccomendation.
